Is less more sometimes?

It's been two and a half years since I have moved to Mumbai from Delhi. And my love for the city developed in no time. What was the reason behind my instant liking for the place? Obviously this city gave me my sense of independence. I was all by myself managing my daily life and its share of ups and downs. Plus Mumbai is a safe place as well, so for a girl it gives a sense of security as well. But more than that I always felt a charm to the city, a sense of liveliness. Everything keeps moving. It's just in the air. The place is always active and something or the other keeps oneself occupied.

But then the thought comes why is it so particular to this city. Mumbai is a congested place. There are people and more people around everywhere. For most people houses end right at place where they start. And even for those places, rents are super high. Cost of living is higher than any of the cosmopolitan cities of India. It's always a life of struggle. But is this the reason that gets that charm and liveliness to the city? Maybe. One learns to make the maximum out of what they have. Resources are less but there's a spirit to get the most out of it. Just like the way in our childhood days we used the make most out of our pocket money however less it was. One can totally recount them as the best days of our lives. Just like we learnt to get happiness from little things in life and make the maximum out of it, this city too makes one learn to bring the sense of happiness and contentment from whatever small space it offers. Space is small, but the spirit to get maximum out of it is huge. Resources are limited, but ideas are not. And I guess this adds to the charm and liveliness of the city. Maybe less is more fun sometimes 😀
